I say No!!!!
Its part of Indianapolis branding and identity.
Why not rebrand as Newfields?
LOL…that one made me laugh
🤣
This is why I’m pleased that IBJ still space to comment. Good one John D T.!
Why doesn’t AES reinvest its dividends instead of hitting up consumers for “innovation”?
At one point in 2012, IPL was sending close to $1million a day to AES in the form of profits. Since the acquisition of AES Ohio (DPL), it is harder to tell from the annual report how much money flows to the corporate office, but yes, AES Indiana is a cash cow, and it seems to be allowed under Indiana regulations.
The last paragraph of the Article is wrong. As an employee for 12 years, I did some reason on this, and they filed for incorporation as American Energy Services.
Dan, American Energy Services is a different company, based in Maryland.
Really? Having worked for IPL I was never given an answer, so I did my own research, since they were incorporated in Delaware.
Awesome, they’ll figure out a way to waste millions on rebranding and pass the cost on to customers who dont care what their name is…
I just want them to stop polluting the air we breathe and eliminate the use of coal immediately. Next, I want to see them accelerate the transformation to completely renewable energy as soon as possible, but no later than 2035. The increased costs will be offset by the savings from a healthier environment.

Total waste of money.
Ok Rob let’s triple our electric bills so old and people in the poorest neighborhood’s can’t afford energy. Another liberal comment without a solution for the aftermath to follow.
How it work out for Texas ROB.
Isn’t Texas a very conservative, red state, J E.? Yeah, how’d it work out for them?
Um, J E., utilities are moving to wind and solar because wind and solar produce electricity much more cheaply than coal, and, increasingly, more cheaply than natural gas. Therefore, power bills for the elderly and under-resourced won’t go up because of using wind and solar. It’s simple market economics.
Propping up coal and other fossil fuels is anti-capitalist if it gets in the way of transitioning to cheaper sources of electricity.
