Malls will soon be required to install metal detectors and post “no guns allowed” signs. All because the Indiana State Legislature believes the gun lobbyists that we will all be safer if we have unrestricted access to guns.
Greenwood Mall already posted No Guns signs. Both the shooter and the “hero” were in violation of that rule.
Interesting that Simon and the security company it retained to help provide a secure shopping experience are now defending this case on the theory they could not forsee a shooting. Castleton had shootings, other malls across the country had them, but who would have expected a shooter in Greenwood?
No guns allowed signs are an open invitation for non-law abiding citizens to prey on such establishments and to shoot their guns wherever and wherever they want to . Open carry at least gives the good gun carriers a chance at protecting the innocent and naive who think a sign will deter evil people .
