  1. Hinkle Fieldhouse is still so special. When at Franklin High school in the early seventies, I can still remember getting to see Hinkle up close and personal. I had seen hundreds of games on TV but not in person. Those two Semi-State championships Franklin won (both against Richmond) will forever be etched in my mind. The place was packed and that was in the days before the seating was changed and the bench seating pulled out to put in the newer seating. So there was a crowd of around 13, 400 on hand. It was still more than a decade before they filmed “Hoosiers” there. My only regret when that filming happened was that I didn’t go downtown to help fill up the stands the night they were shooting. It was on a Monday night and I was working that night but could have taken off though I really didn’t have set of clothes, which were required that looked like they were from the fifties, to wear.
