At first glance, it looks like every Marion County township lost population again this year, but not much. After the big decline a couple years ago, population loss in Marion County slowed a lot last year. Maybe will reverse/renormalize. Part of it depends on what happens with the housing market.
I find it very difficult to believe that the the townships on the south side
lost population.
There is a housing shortage in those townships.
Very few houses go up for sale and the apartment complex’s are full.
There must be a flaw in the census systems.
Where are they getting these numbers without taking an actual census?
Among other sources of information, they have mover data from IRS tax returns. They also know births, deaths, etc.
People moving is most likely due to safety issues.

I dint think Indianapolis is losing people. There are a lot of
migrants and southeast Asians that have moved here.
People that typically may not be countec for various reasons.
What’s the population of the combined statistical metro area? Last year I believe it was about 2.5 million.
