Limiting the amount of Tweets one can read … when you’re in the business of selling advertising … remind me, why does anyone think Elon Musk is moderately competent, much less smart?
Tweetdeck and 3rd party apps allowed me to use Twitter as a Sports/News aggregator. That’s pretty much gone now and i’ve been using it less and less… and less.
Then the main app now defaults to a “For You” section that is part what I want, part a bunch of conspiracy theory nut jobs. It’s a hellscape. The only people with Blue checks are insane people who want validation. Why pay for something that self reports me as a lunatic?
Musk can both be good at innovations and EV technology and extremely bad at running a tech software company. It’s clear that’s the case.
Willing to give Threads a shot and I’m guessing that many other people are too.
It’ll be about the same roaring success as Mastodon and Tribel, and worse than Parler, Gab, Gettr, or TruthSocial–none of which are great shakes and only thrived as niche counterparts to Twitter’s extreme censoriousness.
Musk laid off thousands of employees and proved the app’s functionality was just fine without them. They were useless.
The Blue Checkmark was a club to validate mean girls clique. You’re just salty now because you have to look at opinions you don’t like.
