Best thing they could so to assuage fans ire at some of the replay reviews is to allow the communication from the New York office that is reviewing the play with the on-field referee to be “listened to” by the network broadcast. As it stands now, a controversial play can be overturned, broadcasters can question it, fans (of one of the teams) hate it and coaches cannot say anything for fear of being fined and/or suspended. Open up the review (like they do in college football’s ACC conference) and a lot of the controversy goes away.
