  1. I understand this antitrust principles and market dominance. But most of us didn’t start using Google because it was shoved in our faces. We made the choice because it’s search results have always been far superior to that of Yahoo, Bing, etc. You search for something across all three googles is faster and 100x more relevant. I don’t care if competing browsers are installed I always remove the links and use Google. It’s safer, more connected and provides better faster results. Period.

    1. “search results HAD always been far superior to that of Yahoo, Bing, etc”

I agreed with you until about 2019, when I started to learn how badly Google curates search engine results to steer us toward certain products, businesses, or “trusted sources”, even if others are getting just as much (or more) engagement. If you want to search for a topic that Google’s upper echelon deems “dangerous” or “misinformation” they will suppress it from search engine results.

I can’t find one that I find truly honest and trustworthy, but at least Bing and DuckDuckGo don’t put their finger on the scale quite as badly as Google.
