Can some one ask the question, and get an answer from the WH, where are the test coming from? They say the contracts are in final stages, so it would seem they do not have any yet, Abbott labs one of the largest producers say they are producing 70 million a month way under the 1 billion they are planning to send out. Seems like the shortages are going to continue.
Just got a box of the expensive N95 masks and wore yesterday for the first time. Buyer beware I’d try them out before committing to a whole case, I found it very difficult to breathe and get any air with this mask and even found myself lifting the bottom to sneak a little air in. Too restrictive for me. I’ll try one more time, but I feel like I can’t breathe and will probably go back to the thinner mask even if it offers less protection. I see people wearing them so don’t take my word for it but try it out first is all I’m saying.
A properly fit and sealed N95 is not tolerable for long periods of time and not meant for extended use.
Sounds like this will come just a bit too late. Extra help and masks should’ve been in place already, some estimates say we have already peaked out.
This should make anyone out there with a “government will take care of me” attitude think twice.
Agreed that all of this could have and should have been in place months ago. But in fairness, with regard to the “government will take care of me” point, the government DID try to take care of us by offering free vaccines. If we had not had so many million vaccine refusers, we would not have hospitals packed with unvaccinated COVID patients, and the supply of home tests might be keeping up with a lower demand. The vaccine obviously does not prevent all infections, but it still reduces the number, along with (even more importantly) preventing most serious disease requiring hospitalization. For many months, Americans have had free access to those vaccines, courtesy of the government, plenty of time to not only be fully vaccinated but now also boosted. It’s not really the government’s fault that so many people have been too stubborn to accept this government help that would have saved many lives and prevented much economic disruption.
Agreed! I can tell everyone the vaccine works! Just had Covid last week and it was not a big deal. I credit the vaccine I had in April for my mild symptoms. Get vaccinated people!
