    1. The number of graphs of economic inequality in which “Reagan gets elected” is the point in which things diverge … is notable.

    2. And Nate and AR, the issue isn’t that it doesn’t work, it’s that you need to keep cutting taxes. If you keep cutting eventually you’ll prove Laffer wrong. /sarcasm

  1. Well, that included some inappropriate stereotyping: “rural households faced higher inflation than higher-income households.” So if you are a journalist at AP you envision rural households as some sort of scene from The Grapes of Wrath? I am higher-income and live in a rural community. I can assure you that I am surrounded by farmers with multi-million dollar operations.

    1. …and probably all of those row crop farmer-neighbors are losing money because of the tariffs/trade war. They are not buying new $100K pickup trucks this year. They are land-rich and cash-poor.

Nor are they the majority of “rural America”. Farmers are 1-2% of the total population. Drive some state highways through small Indiana towns where factories have closed and you’ll see the people the story is talking about.

  2. This is another BS article by AP fabricated to fit their predetermined narrative. 200K folks centered around NY and the east coast!? They again have no idea what really goes on out here in the ‘sticks’, and who spends the money.

    1. Good grief, Kevin. It’s an AP story quoting two different reports by the Federal Reserve. You gotta bring something stronger to the table than conservative buzzwords that were cool three years ago.

    2. But Joe, the Fed is anti-fearless leader because they don’t print more money! So their reports are worth nothing. /sarcasm
