The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis and JCC Indianapolis on Tuesday announced a reciprocal partnership intended to extend access to fitness and wellness services for members of both organizations.

Beginning April 12, JCC members will be able to use YMCA facilities on days when the JCC is closed or closes early. In turn, YMCA members will be able to use JCC amenities when the Y has reduced hours or closures.

“This reciprocal access ensures that members can continue to pursue their wellness goals without interruption, while also connecting with new spaces and faces across Indianapolis,” the organizations said in announcing the agreement.

The plan is expected to have the largest impact at the Jordan YMCA at 8400 Westfield Blvd., due to its proximity to the JCC at 6701 Hoover Road, but YMCA centers across the city are part of the plan.

“We look forward to this meaningful collaboration and the opportunity to strengthen the spirit of community across all of our centers,” said Rich Lord, JCC Senior Director of Member Experience, in written remarks.

The first opportunity to welcome JCC members will be Saturday, when the JCC closes at 3 p.m. Additional upcoming dates include April 13 and April 19, when the JCC will be fully closed. The YMCA will be fully closed for Easter on April 20.

The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis has locations in Indianapolis, Avon, Fishers, Lebanon and Westfield, and also operates a 240-acre overnight camp and a Youth Development service branch.

JCC Indianapolis, established in 1914 as the Jewish Community Center, offers preschool and after-school care and fitness and arts programs. It has more than 12,000 members.
