A new survey by CNN and Opinion Research Corp. shows Americans are decidedly more optimistic than they were even last month. The respondents who said things are going “very well” or “well” jumped to a total of 43 percent from 29 percent in December.
That’s the most optimistic reading for the survey since 2007.
Conversely, pessimism went into retreat.
This survey isn’t easily dismissed by the usual cautions of small sample sizes and so on. The survey, taken Jan. 21-23, included 1,012 adults.
