Police are investigating a stabbing that critically injured a man Wednesday morning on the north side of Indianapolis. The man was stabbed several times in the arms, chest and buttocks during the incident at Cambridge Square Apartments in the 7200 block of Township Line Road. A suspect was taken into custody. Police have not released names of the suspect or victim, who was taken to St. Vincent Hospital.
Indianapolis police are investigating a weekend shooting that killed a 21-year-old man. Police responded to a report of a person shot at the Phoenix Apartments near East 42nd Street and Shadeland Avenue about 3 a.m. Saturday. They found Michael Lacy in the grass with multiple gunshot wounds. Detectives say Lacy was visiting a friend when he was approached by a group of people and they started fighting.

Investigators are looking into police behavior during a Saturday arrest caught on video by a resident of Tuscan Pointe apartments off Southport Road. In the video, which is available on Fox59.com, officers are dragging a handcuffed man down a flight of stairs. Police arrested 19-year-old Max Harper after he allegedly injured two paramedics and tried to punch a police officer. Dawnita Gibson, 35, of Indianapolis was found dead Thursday in a west-side apartment by police investigating a reported domestic disturbance. Police were called to Chapel Hill Apartments in the 7600 block of West Street at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday. When they knocked on the door, a man inside answered, “Just a minute.” When no one came to the door, officers entered to find the woman, who had suffered an undisclosed injury. A man was seen fleeing from the rear of the residence. Police arrested a man matching his description an hour later on Crawfordsville Road.

A fire that broke out Thursday night at the Scandia Apartments complex near 96th Street and Allisonville Road on the northeast side of Indianapolis caused about $215,000 in damage. No one was injured but 12 people were forced out of their homes because of smoke damage. The Red Cross is helping the residents find a place to stay. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Police say two missing children from Alabama were found unharmed Monday in Indianapolis after they were taken by their baby sitter. Six-year-old Angel Montoya and 5-year-old Christian Montoya of Russellville, Ala., may have been kidnapped by Teresa McGee, according to officials. She’s now in custody in Indiana. The Alabama Department of Public Safety issued a Missing Child Alert for two children Monday. The boys were located at Rosewood Commons Apartments near West 56th Street.
