A woman told police that a man hit her car with an arrow shot from a crossbow early Friday morning in Fishers. The woman was driving west on 96th Street and preparing to turn onto Allisonville Road when she saw a man with the bow standing in the middle of the intersection. A clerk at a nearby gas station said she saw the man with a crossbow earlier that morning in her store. Police found the arrow in the street but not the suspect.

Allison Transmission Inc. is counting on upgrades to truck and bus fleets in countries like China and India for its future growth, the company revealed in a filing it made Friday to raise up to $750 million through an initial public offering.
A fire that broke out Thursday night at the Scandia Apartments complex near 96th Street and Allisonville Road on the northeast side of Indianapolis caused about $215,000 in damage. No one was injured but 12 people were forced out of their homes because of smoke damage. The Red Cross is helping the residents find a place to stay. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Indianapolis police are investigating a serious crash involving two vehicles at 52nd Street and Allisonville Road on the city's northeast side. Police say the driver of a red Cadillac SUV was traveling north on Allisonville when it crossed the center line and hit a white Ford SUV. Jamal Moore, 31, the driver of the Cadillac, told investigators he had been drinking earlier in the morning. His passenger, Joseph Reese, 34, of Indianapolis, was taken to Wishard Hospital in critical condition. Moore and the 27-year-old driver of the white SUV suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
