Man dies in Lawrence shooting

Lawrence police are investigating the death of a man found in an alley Tuesday night. Police answered a call about gunshots about 10 p.m. and found the victim in an alley in the 5200 block of Traditions Drive, near 52nd Street and Mitthoeffer Road. He had been shot at least once. Police say the victim was about 40 years old.

Police nab 81 pounds of cocaine

February 1, 2012

Indiana State Police seized 81 pounds of cocaine during a traffic stop Tuesday on Interstate 70 in Henry County, east of Indianapolis. A trooper pulled over a semi about 9:30 p.m. and became suspicious after talking with the driver. About half of the cocaine was found in the cab of the truck and the rest was found in the refrigerated trailer, which was loaded with lettuce. The truck was on its way to New Jersey from California. The driver, Moises Delgado, 26, and his passenger, Rene Rocha, 52, were arrested. The value of the seized drugs was estimated at just under $4 million.
