-Indiana Math and Science Academy North leased 37,000 square feet at 7435 N. Keystone Ave. The tenant and landlord, ELEF Inc., were represented by Antone Najem of Pittman Real Estate Services LLC.

-Tuesday Morning renewed its lease for 15,034 square feet at Crooked Creek Center, 7840 Michigan Road. The tenant was represented by Wayne O’Hara of Sitehawk Retail Real Estate. The landlord, Crooked Creek Center, was represented by Lee White of CB Richard Ellis.

-Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. leased 9,836 square feet of office space at Four Parkwood Crossing, 500 E. 96th St. The tenant was represented by Tom Osborne and Matt Moore of Colliers International. The landlord, Duke Realty, represented itself.

-Citon Insurance leased 5,756 square feet of office space at 450 E. 96th St. The tenant was represented by Dustin Looper and Yumi Prater of Colliers International. The landlord, Duke Realty, represented itself.

-Apria Healthcare leased 5,400 square feet of flex space at 8446 Moller Road. The tenant was represented by Dustin Looper of Colliers International. The landlord, Duke Realty, represented itself.

-Duratech and Fast Track Technologies leased 4,000 square feet at 598 W. Carmel Drive, Carmel. The tenant was represented by Keith Dedrick of Corporate Commercial Group. The landlord, John Kirby, represented himself.

-Pizza King renewed its lease for 3,350 square feet at Harbourtown Shoppe’s at Morse Lake, Noblesville. The landlord, Harbourtown Center LLC, was represented by Bill Ernst of Charter Commercial Realty Group. The tenant represented itself.

-Church Mutual Insurance. renewed its lease for 2,177 square feet at 2647 Waterfront Parkway East Drive. The landlord, New Boston Jacaranda LP, was represented by Gus Sevastianos and Brian Fitzgerald of Citimark Management Co. Inc. The tenant represented itself.   

-Olympus Media renewed its lease for 1,758 square feet at 8604 Allisonville Road. The tenant was represented by Mike Corr  of Jones Lang LaSalle. The landlord, Castle Creek Office LLC, was represented by Gus Sevastianos and Brian Fitzgerald of Citimark Management Co. Inc.

-Sport Clips leased 1,600 square feet at Plainfield Commons II, Plainfield. The tenant was represented by Jeff Hubley at Midland Atlantic.  The landlord, Plainfield Commons II LLC, was represented by Liz Yoho of Providence Development.

-The Gabriel Project Inc. leased 466 square feet of office space at 5455 W. 86th St. The landlord, Polaris Commercial Investments LLC, was represented by Scott H. Lindenberg  of Echelon Realty Advisors. The tenant represented itself.

Housing

August 2, 2010

On a seasonally adjusted basis, the pace of mortgage loan activity decreased 4.4  percent for the week ended July 23, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association. The rate for 30-year mortgages increased to 4.69 percent from 4.59 percent the previous week. The rate for 15-year mortgages increased to 4.12 percent from 4.05 percent.

Construction

August 2, 2010

-Browning Construction has broken ground on a 60,174-square-foot diagnosis, education, treatment and surgery center for Indiana Spine Group at 13225 N. Meridian St. The project is scheduled to be completed in September 2011.  

-Shamrock Builders-Commercial has completed construction of a 6,154-square-foot dental office for Daniel S. Martin at 1000 W. Jefferson St., Franklin.
 
-Shamrock Builders-Commercial has completed a 2,125-squhttps://admin.ibj.com/admin/article/workflow/claim?articleId=21452#are-foot tenant build-out for Synapse Neuromonitoring at East 10th Street and Mitthoeffer Road.

Sales & acquisitions

August 2, 2010

-Coopers Hawk Winery bought the former Bahama Breeze restaurant at 3815 E. 96th St. The price wasn’t disclosed. The buyer was represented by Keith Isselhardt of Sierra Retail Advisors. The seller, Darden Restaurants, was represented by Steve Delaney of Sitehawk Retail Real Estate.

-Dhillon & Athwal bought a 9,829-square-foot retail/flex building at 4401 E. Washington St. The price wasn’t disclosed. The buyer and seller, Thomas Metzger, were represented by Cindy Hoskinson and Herb Feldmann of Grubb & Ellis Harding Dahm & Co.

Colts training camp begins

August 2, 2010

All players currently under contract reported on time to Indianapolis Colts training camp in Anderson on Sunday. Training
camp runs until Aug. 18. The first preseason game, against San Francisco, will be Aug. 15 at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Crash kills one, hospitalizes two

August 2, 2010

A man died and his two grandchildren have been hospitalized after an early-morning accident on Interstate 65 in Clinton County,
about a half-hour north of Indianapolis. Investigators say Otis Whitelow, 74, drove off the highway and over an embankment
before crashing just after midnight. His granddaughters, 6 and 8, were flown to Riley Hospital for Children and are in stable
condition.

Students head back to class in Warren

August 2, 2010

It’s back to class today for nearly 12,000 students in Warren Township. The district is starting class at least a week
before most other schools in central Indiana. Educators say a money shortage is changing the way the district does business.
Warren is moving from a traditional calendar that includes some voluntary year-round schools using what’s known as a
blended schedule. In it, students go nine weeks on and take two weeks off. Fox59 will have more at 4 p.m.

Enforcement lax on teen-driver mobile-phone ban

Indiana State Police report ticketing only one driver for violating the cell phone ban, and a state agency that tracks infractions
for 160 police departments could find just two other citations.

Alcohol board denies Walgreens’ booze permit application

Marion County’s Alcoholic Beverage Board on Monday denied Walgreen Co.’s application for a permit to sell alcohol at
its location on East Washington Street in Irvington, citing neighbors’ opposition. The panel split 2-2 on a permit for its
Nora store. Earlier, the drugstore chain withdrew two
other requests.

Celadon reports higher quarterly, fiscal-year profit

CEO Steve Russell attributed the improved earnings to a recovering freight environment, coupled with a decrease in

Film advocate Heartland aims to raise $12.5 million

Heartland Truly Moving Pictures is well on its way to raising $12.5 million to use for numerous film-related projects, the
group announced Monday morning during a press conference featuring director Rob Reiner.
