Zionsville residents could soon be asked to vote on a tax levy to increase school funding. The school district’s superintendent
plans to ask the school board Monday night to approve putting a referendum on November’s ballot. The money is needed
to support the district's general operating budget. If the board votes for the idea, leaders will decide how much of a
tax increase to seek.
 

Indianapolis firefighters needed 20 minutes to control a chemical fire at Superior Solvents and Chemicals, 400 W. Regent
St., Monday morning. A worker was pouring caustic soda beads into a 1,000-gallon tank of methanol when the chemicals flashed
and caught insulation above the tank on fire. No one was hurt or exposed to the chemicals.
 

Water rescue crews are looking for people stranded by flood waters in about 25 homes northwest of Martinsville, which has
been hit by heavy rains. Morgan County officials expect the situation to get worse before it gets better as more rain is predicted
Monday. Fox59 will have more at 4 p.m.
