Zionsville residents could soon be asked to vote on a tax levy to increase school funding. The school district’s superintendent
plans to ask the school board Monday night to approve putting a referendum on November’s ballot. The money is needed
to support the district's general operating budget. If the board votes for the idea, leaders will decide how much of a

A 15-year-old Indianapolis girl who was intentionally run down by an SUV driver last month died Thursday night. Dawn Carter
and her mother were struck May 22 by Derek Dewitt, 43, while they stood in the median of Kessler Boulevard while trying to
raise funds for the Indiana School for the Deaf girls' basketball team. Dewitt said he was not taking his schizophrenia
medication at the time and struck the pair on purpose because he “saw something evil.” The girl had been hospitalized
