No foul play found in baby’s death

Toxicology reports show a 4-month old baby found dead at a Bloomington day care center in January apparently died from natural
causes. A worker checking on Judah Welk found he was not breathing and called 911. Judah probably died from sudden infant
death syndrome, according to the Monroe County chief deputy prosecutor. Wanda Ewing, the owner of the center and her two adult
sons were arrested after the incident for unrelated crimes. No charges in connection with Judah’s death will be filed
against Ewing.

Girl, 11, reports attempted abduction

March 2, 2010

Indianapolis police are searching for two men accused of trying to abduct an 11-year-old girl Tuesday morning. The girl said
she was waiting for the school bus near the Oaktree Apartments on Post Road near Pinehurst Drive just before 7 a.m. when a
dark van with two men inside approached her. The men yelled for her to get into the van, but she refused and used her cell
phone to call 911. She described the driver as a black man with twisties in his hair, and the passenger as a Hispanic man
with a gold tooth. Fox59 will have more at 4 p.m.

-Eastgate Studios LLC leased 18,000 square feet at 24 S. Shelby St. The tenant and the landlord, Pleasant View Partnership PC, were represented by Matt Jackson and Joe Lonnemann of Halakar Real Estate.

-Aaron Rents leased 6,700 square feet at The Parkwood Shoppes, 1616 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. The tenant was represented by Michael Cranfill of Sitehawk Retail Real Estate. The landlord, Pavilion Inc., was represented by Steven Hoffman.

-UtilX Corp. leased 4,000 square feet at 496 S. Polk St., Building No. 2, Greenwood. The tenant was represented by Cam Kucic of Summit Realty Group. The landlord, Robert W. Kleis Jr. Living Trust, was represented by Cathy Richards of Grubb & Ellis Harding Dahm & Co.

-Pediatric Nursing Specialists leased 3,069 square feet of office space at 3500 DePauw Blvd. The landlord, CP Pyramids Associates LP, was represented by David A. Moore, Darrin L. Boyd and Bennett Williams of Cassidy Turley. The tenant represented itself.
 
-American Electronics leased 2,780 square feet at 496 S. Polk St., Building No. 1, Greenwood. Cathy Richards of Grubb & Ellis Harding Dahm & Co. represented the tenant and the landlord, Robert W. Kleis Jr. Living Trust.
 
-Edward D. Jones & Co. leased 1,172 square feet at the Mount Comfort Business Center in the Mount Comfort Commercial Park, 4177 N. Awning Court. The tenant was represented by Jeff Schappe of Colliers Corporate Solutions. The landlord/owner, Precedent Commercial Development, was represented by Larry Siegler of Precedent.

-A.C.T. Services Inc. leased 1,200 square feet at Eagle Highland Office Park, 3955 Eagle Creek Parkway. The landlord, Grubb & Ellis Healthcare REIT Medical Portfolio 3, was represented by Debbie Shumate of Grubb & Ellis Harding Dahm & Co. The tenant represented itself.

-USM/Transfield Services Group Inc. renewed its lease for 1,805 square feet at Greenwood Oaks Business Centre. 500 S. Polk St., Greenwood. Cathy Richards of Grubb & Ellis Harding Dahm & Co. represented the landlord, Greenwood Oaks Investments LLC, and the tenant.

-Fast Tans renewed its lease for 1,600 square feet at George Thomas Plaza, 1028 N. Shadeland Ave. Cindy Hoskinson and Herb Feldmann of Grubb & Ellis Harding Dahm & Co. represented the tenant and the landlord, Ladywood Apartments LLC.

-Hometown Exteriors Inc. leased 1,500 square feet at Greenwood Oaks Business Centre, 500 S. Polk St., Greenwood. Cathy Richards of Grubb & Ellis Harding Dahm & Co. represented the landlord, Greenwood Oaks Investments LLC, and the tenant.

Housing

March 1, 2010

On a seasonally adjusted basis, the pace of mortgage loan activity dropped 8.5  percent for the week ended Feb. 19, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association. The rate for 30-year mortgages increased to 5.03 percent from 4.94 percent the previous week. The rate for 15-year mortgages increased to 4.35 percent from 4.33 percent.

Sales/acquisitions

March 1, 2010

Noblesville LLC purchased a single-tenant, 6,840-square-foot building occupied by AutoZone at 146th Street and State Road 37, Noblesville. The sales price was $1.8 million. The buyer was represented by Michael Ofsansky of Michael Ofsansky Realtors. The seller, Thomas A. Grant Inc., was represented by Brian T. Southworth and Nathan D. Whalen of Marcus & Millichap’s Indianapolis office.

PNC-National City conversion ahead of schedule

March 1, 2010

The PNC Financial Services Group said Monday it has brought in 2.8 million former National City Bank customers and converted
560 branches since a $5.6 billion buyout less than two years ago. Branches in Indiana are set to switch over in June.
