NW Indiana’s clogged railroads to get $71M upgrade

Northwestern Indiana's congested railroad corridors will see some upgrades with $71 million in federal money to help speed the flow of passenger and freight trains and perhaps help progress on a Chicago-to-Detroit high-speed Amtrak rail route.

Greenwood teen injured in cycle crash

September 12, 2012

A dirt bike crash Tuesday left a Greenwood teenager in critical condition with severe head trauma. Hunter Jedele, 17, was riding on private property in rural Johnson County when lost control on a dirt mound. He was found unresponsive by a relative a short time later and taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Girl, 15, reports rape in Irvington

September 12, 2012

Police are investigating a report by a 15-year-old girl in Irvington that she was raped by an unknown man. The girl told police the incident happened early Saturday morning at a residence on South Audubon Road in the historic east-side Indianapolis neighborhood. Detectives canvassed the neighborhood Tuesday, passing out flyers with a drawing of the suspect.

Photographer charged in sexual assault

September 12, 2012

A Greenwood man was arrested and charged Tuesday with five felony counts for the alleged sexual assault of a teenage model. Allen Miles Fork II, 42, was charged with child exploitation, voyeurism and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. A 16-year-old girl told police she was raped after Fork gave her vodka and a pill to calm her down during a photo session in June in his Greenwood apartment. Police say they recovered a video of Fork and the girl engaged in sexual acts.
