Accused child molester arrested

Investigators think they may have taken a dangerous serial child molester off the streets of Indianapolis. Luis Gonzales
was arrested Saturday morning at a northwest-side apartment complex where a young girl recognized him as the man who had fondled
her earlier this month at gunpoint. Gonzales, who reportedly has given police accounts of other assaults, is being held on
two counts of child molesting and two counts of criminal confinement. Police intend to release his photo so other possible
victims can identify him.
 

Police investigate morning shooting

Police are investigating a shooting that took place Monday morning near 38th Street and Arlington Avenue. The victim, who
suffered multiple gunshot wounds, was found in the 3500 block of North Graham Avenue. Police say they are talking to a suspect.
The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but he was alert and talking, according to police, and gave them
the name of the shooter.

Firefighter dies after crash into strip club

May 24, 2010

Investigators are trying to determine why an off-duty Franklin Township firefighter was speeding Sunday evening before he
lost control of his truck and crashed into an Indianapolis strip club. David Joseph Newsom, 34, was driving south on Madision
Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. when he was clocked going 81 mph. A state trooper tried to pull Newsom over, but he hit a curb and
lost control. His truck hit a car, snapped a utility pole, and slammed into Club Zeus Showclub. Newsom, who was thrown from
his vehicle, later died at Wishard Hospital. Fox59 will have more at 4 p.m.
