at a Bemis Co. plant in Terre Haute after 40 days.
Workers United Local 1426 went on strike July 21 in a dispute
with Neenah, Wis.-based Bemis over the company’s use of temporary workers and proposed changes to health insurance benefits.
The union says that under the new contract those working for more than five months will become part of the bargaining unit.
The union did not release totals from yesterday’s vote on the contract, which lasts 10 months longer than the original
three-year proposal.
The Terre Haute plant opened in 1956 and mostly makes packaging for the food industry.
