Chief Social Strategist and Co-Founder
Socially Coordinated Consulting and Create. Connect. Collab.
Lateva Woolfork was a health care administrator with six kids when she chose to change careers nine years ago and create her own marketing/consulting firm, Socially Coordinated Consulting. “Empowering entrepreneurs and building community around impactful brands fuels me,” she said. Woolfork also launched Create. Connect. Collab. for women entrepreneurs to build, scale and sustain their businesses and created the “What’s in Your Purse” program, which supports incarcerated women reconnecting with their children by providing faith-based resources and essentials. She’s the motivator behind community events such as IndyHub’s the Lab, which empowers young leaders, and she has curated content for Maven Space, PitchFeast and the Martindale Brightwood Community Development Center. Woolfork also is a member of the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series’ 48th class.
Getting here: Woolfork started in the medical field, where she spent more than a decade helping and serving people. A passion for storytelling and connection led her to start a blog, “The All Purpose Woman,” which became a creative outlet and platform for inspiring others. Realizing the power of strategic communication, she transitioned to marketing and founded Socially Coordinated Consulting to help brands share their stories authentically. Along the way, she also co-founded Create. Connect. Collab. and became a business coach.
First job: Steve & Barry’s, a college apparel store in the Fairlane Mall in Dearborn, Michigan
Givebacks: director of ethics and advocacy, Public Relations Society of America; board member, PitchFeast; leader, three Girl Scout troops
Lesson learned: “My passion for connecting people and building community is at the core of everything I do. I’ve also realized that I thrive when I can be both a strategic thinker, dreamer and a mentor, empowering others to realize their potential.”•
