The iconic St. Elmo Steak House in downtown Indianapolis has furthered its reputation as one of America's classics. The James Beard Foundation will recognize St. Elmo with its America's Classic Award in May. The award is given to restaurants with “timeless appeal.” St. Elmo Steak House has been open and in its original location on Illinois Street since 1902.
