A Pike High School student was shot in the foot at a northwest-side park Thursday, prompting recreational activities to be relocated to another park. The victim, an 18-year-old senior, was on the basketball court at Northwestway Park at about 7:15 p.m. when shots rang out. He told police two people exchanged multiple shots at each other. He dove to the ground for cover and was struck in the foot. Police said the shooting appears to be gang- related and an isolated incident. Numerous soccer events scheduled for Friday have been moved to Mary & John Geisse Soccer Complex at West 56th Street and Reed Road.
