Gregory Jarrett, 34, was discovered about 10 feet from the bank in about 3 feet of water just before noon by a man riding his bike. A man who knew the deceased said Jarrett was homeless and had a drinking problem. He said Jarrett likely passed out and rolled into the canal. Police are awaiting an autopsy, but investigators don’t expect foul play.
