The reduction is the latest measure the company has taken to adjust to declining auto sales. The supplier of fuel-injection systems to Honda Motor Co. previously imposed pay cuts, four-day work weeks and voluntary layoffs to trim costs. This is the first time in the supplier’s 20-year history that it cut jobs, the company said. The division of Tokyo-based Keihin Corp employs about 900 people in Greenfield.
