United Way gives $1.3 million to combat homelessness-WEB ONLY

United Way of Central Indiana announced this morning that it would provide $1.3 million to two local housing projects as part of Indianapolis’ Blueprint to End Homelessness campaign. A $1 million grant to the Julian Center for abused women will help construct 71 permanent housing units at 34th and Meridian streets. United Way also will provide $320,000 to renovate 60 efficiency units for the mentally ill at St. George Apartments, 2011 N. Boulevard Place.
