Pence begins economic development part of Israel trip

December 29, 2014

Gov. Mike Pence is scheduled to begin the economic development portion of his nine-day trip to Israel by meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Pence, Netanyahu and Israeli Minister of Economy Naftali Bennett are scheduled to meet Monday to discuss economic relations between Indiana and Israel. Pence says he hopes the entrepreneurial spirit the two share can lead to business opportunities.

Pence will host an Invest in Indiana breakfast seminar for companies interested in locating or growing in Indiana. He also plans to meet with U.S. Ambassador Daniel Shapiro at the embassy in Tel Aviv for an economic briefing on the state of Israel's economy.

This is Pence's fifth international job-hunting mission as governor. He's also traveled to Japan, Germany, England and Canada.
