Subscribe NowKem Hawkins, who has been president of Bloomington-based Cook Group Inc. since 2001, will retire on July 1. He will be replaced by Pete Yonkman, whom Hawkins has been grooming as a successor for several years. In late 2013, Yonkman replaced Hawkins as president of Cook Medical, the Cook company that makes medical devices. Hawkins, 67, joined Cook in 1981 after a career as a band director in the Bloomington schools system. Yonkman, 42, joined Cook in 2001 as corporate counsel. He earned a bachelor’s degree and a law degree from Indiana University in Bloomington.
Dr. David Hedrick, an adult hematologist, has joined the Indiana Hemophilia & Thrombosis Center. According to his LinkedIn profile, Hedrick previously worked for the hemophilia & thrombosis center as a hospitalist. Hedrick earned his medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He also holds a master’s degree in cell biology and anatomy from and a bachelor’s degree in biology, both from IU’s Bloomington campus.
