Tennessee-based Peritus Public Relations, one of the largest and fastest-growing public relations agencies in the region, has opened an office in Indianapolis.

Doran Moreland joins the firm as a director, after serving as central Indiana director for Sen. Evan Bayh. Before his U.S. Senate service, Moreland served as special assistant to then-Mayor Bart Peterson. Peritus is known for its governmental lobbying efforts on behalf of its clients.

"I am pleased to join a tremendous firm that is doing excellent work for clients in three critical states," Moreland said.

In addition to opening an office in Indianapolis, Peritus recently added a Lexington office to serve clients in central and eastern Kentucky. Peritus already had offices in Louisville and Frankfort, Ky., and in Nashville, Tenn. The company's clients include Pepsi, Marriott, Gap Inc., Clear Channel Communications and Kentucky Fried Chicken.
