Another Scotty’s Brewhouse location has closed, this one at 4530 Southport Crossing Drive in Southport.

The location closed Wednesday night, the parent company said, marking the sixth location to fall since the Indianapolis-based restaurant chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in December. A seventh location, at 3905 E. 96th St., will close at the end of the day Sunday, the company announced earlier this week.

The closures will leave the restaurant chain with just 10 Scotty's locations—five that are corporate owned and five that are independently operated.

“Regretfully, the owner of the managed Scotty’s Brewhouse location on Southport Road made the unfortunate decision to permanently close immediately,” the company said in a written statement. “This was not a decision of Scotty’s Brewhouse Corporate, and we will do all we can to assist the affected employees.”

The company closed its four weakest performing locations in December after announcing its Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Those locations were in downtown Indianapolis, Carmel, Muncie and Waco, Texas.

Another location in Noblesville closed in February. Scotty’s Holdings said the owner of that location, who operated under a management contract, made the decision to close.

The bankruptcy case involves Scotty’s corporate-owned locations, but the company also has independently-owned sites that are not part of the bankruptcy.

The four locations that closed in December were all corporate-owned sites, as is the 96th Street location. The decision to close those five sites was made by Scotty’s corporate office.

The Noblesville and Southport sites are independently owned, and those owners—not the Scotty’s chain—made the decision to close those restaurants.

Scotty’s remaining corporate-operated locations are on the Butler University campus in Indianapolis and in Bloomington, Fort Wayne, West Lafayette and Mishawaka. Its five independently-managed locations are in Brownsburg; Champaign and Matoon in Illinois; Oxford, Ohio; and Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

The company also has Thr3e Wise Men Brewing Co. locations in Broad Ripple and Muncie that remain open.
