What an absolute crock of crap! This AP content is really bad – please stop reprinting it.
Tesla was down – just Tesla.
Toyota’s hybrid and electrics up 36%! Honda, Nissan, Subaru, Hyundai, all growing their EV share.
Ford (not mentioned but widely cited as “backing off from EV”) had EV sales up 41% last quarter!
Global auto sales were down, while EV sales continue to rise, yet this hit-piece article spends multiple inches with quotes from entrenched old-school “insiders” bashing EV buyers as niche climate activists.
Awful reporting!
Charles, keep in mind if only 1 unit was sold last year and you only sold 4 this year, your sale are up 300%!
Reasonable people buy hybrid ICE vehicles. Battery cars with all the downsides? Most reasonable people will pass.
Ford is losing thousands of dollars ( problem around $ 20,000 ) per
EV sold.
All the car companies are losing big per EV unit sold.
Tesla even had to slash their prices by almost half.
Agree with you, D H. Our Honda Accord hybrid works very well. Can drive it across country without a worry, getting over 40 mpg. Very nice compromise.
