  1. I still wondered during this whole year’s state house session how our Republican super majority continued to pass tax cuts like there was nothing happening in Washington. I guess to fool the masses, you have keep all of the lies consistent.

  2. Apparently people who need medical assistance don’t matter. Usually proorer and without political clout, they do not matter.. What does matter is that those who are paying for health insurance will face rate hikes that will inevitably be required to cover uncompensated care at ERs which will be the only option to Medicaid recipients.

Yes the immigration system needs attention. However, upon expulsion of the millions (?) or thousands (?) of individuals in the US without legal basis for remaining will decrease tax payments and payments into Social Security for which said ‘illegals’ pay but can never receive tax refunds or SSA distributions.

No Indiana GOP want to ban Chinese students at Notre Dame. What is the true reason? Other than a{nother] trump edit for which the GOP lemmings will mindlessly heed in cult-like fashion, what is the benefit.

The brash, boastful bill will prove a disbenefit to the nation with its massive deficit increase and pork political promises that don’t make sense. No tax on tipped wages — well rest assured, why would a tax paying consumer be inclined tip big for those who potentially earn more tax free?

Regan’s trickle down did not work. Raising tariffs to bang other countries to pay for a foolish tax-break for the well off will not raise enough revenue. And many of most loyal fans of the president in rural, non-diverse, red-white-blue and poor areas will garner little benefit from the brainwash bill. Will they notice or will they [all] move to Mississippi, Nebraska, and Iowa to toil in the meat processing industries which once employed many ‘illegal’ employees. Very interesting that the companies who knowingly hired these ‘illegal’ workers at low wages face no penalties.

    1. +1 on all of your points, Derek. It’s terrible that the tax breaks start right away and the worst of the spending cuts don’t take effect until after the 2026 mid-term election. Take a guess why.

  4. Seems to me everything stated in this article is pure speculation and what-ifs, from both sides.
Don’t worry, our illustrious legislature will try and steal another $billion from our smoking population, and all will be cured.

    1. All that “speculation and what-if’s” didn’t stop Indiana’s Republican lawmakers from passing tax cuts BEFORE they got the revenue forecast.

Keep on whistling past that graveyard, Kevin.
