  1. Just like lawmakers were guilty of practicing medicine without a license on the abortion issue, they seem to think they know as much about education as educators.

    1. A retired florist has had more influence than any educator in the state of Indiana the last 20 years. Little wonder that he’s now been hired to run a local charter/hybrid school for Marian University. Honestly good enough Indiana.

Republicans have been in charge the past decade as educational outcomes have diminished and dismantled the elected office of schools chief because the last two elected officials – educators both – were not compliant enough.

I’m all for parental choice if Indiana had a system like Massachusetts, which ties charter dollars to increased outcomes and has some standards and structure as to who can charter schools. Indiana lets any number of outlets charter schools then wonders why $86 million dollars disappears into virtual charter schools which get away with enrolling dead kids and changes nothing. The same people who would call for IPS to be dismantled if they lost $86,000 are strangely silent at the loss of a much larger amount of money.
