8 thoughts on “Indiana leaders push conservative-backed national debt denunciation”
This is virtue signaling
ALEC is one of the reasons we are in this position! They are the ones who keep pushing for endless tax cuts for the ultra-rich and mega-corporations. Want to fix our nation’s fiscal situation? Crank up those corporate taxes and marginal taxes on the 1%.
Absolutely correct. The federal budget was balanced at the end of President Clinton’s term. Ever since then, debt has exploded under George W. Bush and Donald Trump, thanks to their massive tax cuts for the rich. It has always been a taxation problem, not a spending problem.
this is a HUGE bipartisan problem that nobody will address because the fix is going to hurt. anyone who blames either party has their head in the sand.
As soon as Republicans are willing to talk tax increases along with cuts to services, I’ll consider it a bipartisan issue.
Agree with D.D. Both parties got us into this mess, both parties need to work together to get us out of this mess. Clinton and Gingrich worked together for a balanced budget.
And add to the mix a Social Security patch…Reagan and Tip ONeill worked to keep the system solvent this long.
You could take every single penny from all the rich and it wont even balance the budget. Its over! Medicare, Medicaid, and SS are so big they eat everything. Good job boomers!
