  1. Notice nowhere in our state laws did it give the governor the right to make himself Dictator. Governor Holcomb in not the only one or the worst but unlimited “emergency powers” just can’t be allowed. When the people have no voice its no longer the United States, its a dictatorship.
I am surprised that a supposedly “conservative” politician, like Holcomb would do the same thing that other governors around the country have done. The damage done to this country, at this point is incalculable.

    1. Let me ask this for maybe the 5th time and maybe I’ll get a response from ANYONE this time:

If Holcomb is a dictator, and Republicans were in session for three months in 2021 with a super-majority, why didn’t they just end Holcomb’s “emergency powers” declaration with a simple majority vote?

Republicans have/had a super majority and found the time to make popcorn the official state snack. John Jacob filed the paperwork to end the emergency powers on Organization Day. Why didn’t they act?

Your problem should be with the Legislature, not Holcomb. They failed you.

    2. Nothing is settled. The decision by this county judge will be appealed, and go all the way up the judicial system where ultimately the state supreme court will rule. It is hard to imagine that the high court will choose to strip the emergency powers from an elected official chosen by a majority of voters throughout the state and let part-time legislators who seldom act to solve the major issues facing our state. Simply put, the last thing we need in the middle of a crisis are amateurs pandering to local political pressure to avoid having to make the hard – but right – decisions.

  2. The Governor is the only elected official who represents everybody in the state. To defer those powers to partisan hacks would be immoral, un-American, and dangerous. Many more would have died if handling the pandemic had been left up to the legislature.

    1. That’s not true. We have Todd Rokita! He’s an elected-by-everyone partisan hack who is also immoral, un-American, and dangerous.

The true problem is that the Republican Party has been taken over by people who either hold dangerous beliefs or who are too cowardly to stand up to their base voters and tell them they’re nuts.
