  1. Then Conference championship games and tournaments need to end for both football and basketball. Simply award each conference champion at the end of the schedule. If it’s a tie, then co-champs. When IU went to the Rose Bowl in 1968 they got the nod while being co champs with Minnesota and Purdue. At this point they serve no purpose and only add to the wear and tear.

  2. This won’t extend the tourney any. Twelve games will be played instead of 4 early in the week. Anytime you win or go home the games are compelling. The round of 64 will feel exactly the same as always.

  3. NCAA is ruining college basketball. The tourney already favors the big conferences – and this will allow more of those mediocre teams – even though the appeal especially in the early rounds is the small school teams – the cinderellas.
