IU and its researchers will get $2.1 million to study why some patients suffer chemotherapy-related side effects; to understand how RNA controls genes in breast cancer; to understand the molecular mechanisms involved in estrogen-receptor positive cancer growth; and to support the collection and storage of whole blood, DNA serum, plasma and healthy breast tissue at the IU Simon Cancer Center.
Purdue and its researchers will get $450,000 to study how to enhance the immune system’s natural ability to fight breast cancer through the protein PD-L1.•
