  1. I would have never believed our government would shut down to protect people that are in America illegally. It’s like our representatives represent another country.

    1. ICE has been allocated over $75 BILLION that is completely unaffected by this partial shutdown.

Meanwhile, untrained, reckless, and unprofessional ICE agents have harassed, wrongly arrested, and even murdered US CITIZENS.

Also, Republicans fully control the House, Senate, and White House.

So, spare everyone this nonsense about “our representatives represent another country.”.

What most of them represent is the interests of the billionaire and multi-millionaire class. But, voters allow themselves to get ginned up and suckered into voting for them time and time again.

    2. Sorry,
But the Dems are no better with their nonsense.
Both parties have become more extreme and will not cooperate with each other to find compromise or resolution.
      It’s Bloods verses Crips
      Hatfields verses McCoys

Are there ICE agents that have committed acts of wrong?? Yes!!

However, the vast majority of ICE agents are doing their best to be professional in an environment where they are harassed mercilessly by leftists that hate any type of law enforcement and despise our country.
Many of the anti ICE people are NOT
peaceful protestors and are NOT noble or virtuous.
This problem came about because the previous administration had literally had an open borders policy.

    3. I agree with Keith that both sides have forgotten how to work across the aisle. The rest of his comment highlights why they’re incentivized not to work together though. When your starting point is that the other side “despises our country,” lawmakers believe, and rightly so, that they’ll be punished by their voters for bipartisanship. Trump only makes things worse by declaring half the country Enemy Number 1.

There are already numerous images of ICE agents surviving at airports without being masked. If it works there, why can’t they take the same approach when the are out in our communities? Reforming ICE is not unreasonable, and actually clearly merited. Otherwise, Kristi Noem would still have a job and two Americans would still be alive. Keith should consider how he would react if masked federal agents were storming his community and disappearing his friends and neighbors.

    4. Micheal N.

I actually agree with you on a couple of points. And would even add a couple more.

1). Kristi Noem deserved to be fired,

2). Fire Stephen Miller immediately and end the quotas he established.

3). ICE agents must receive full and thorough comprehensive training
before being put on the streets.

4). A more comprehensive thorough screening process for all ICE agent applicants.

5). ICE agents after their training that commit intentional wrongs that violate their training and the law face
      disciplinary action.

There are many things that I disagree with Trump on that Republicans SHOULD push back on.

That said, Micheal needs to watch the enormous amount of video showing the over the top viciousness by the non peaceful protestors. Video recorded by the very people trying to provoke ICE agents to physically hurt them or ruin their career.

ICE agents overall have shown amazing self restraint given the constant vicious harassment that they endure daily.
      Think Antifa!!!

I personally do NOT agree with mass deportations any more than I agree with the open borders policy of the previous administration. We need common sense moderation.

The mass deportations ( excluding migrants that have committed felony crimes ) IS INHUMANE. These migrants came in under an open borders policy. Many sacrificing greatly, both monetarily paying huge sums to the cartels and risking their physical safety.

      We need common sense approaches!

  2. I continue to wonder why the unpaid TSA Agents continue to come to work. If I remember correctly, after government shutdowns, the federal workers have historically been given back pay. Congress is the group that should remain unpaid.

  3. The right hates “leftists” bc they’ve realized that “leftists” are the only ones brave enough to defend the principles and freedoms this country was founded on. Perhaps the right should consider standing with their fellow citizens in the righteous fight against a tyrannical government instead of letting a wannabe dictator completely usurp their principles with lies and deceit. Or, maybe the “Don’t Tread on Me” crowd has always been cosplaying as freedom-loving but have been waiting to follow a dictator felon with cult-like fanaticism all along.

    1. Buckle up, Keith! The blue wave is coming! Rational people understand how close we are to rock bottom thanks to Republican majorities in all three branches. Chaos and economic ruin abound. It’s time for the grown ups to clean up the mess and set us back onto the path of prosperity just like Clinton, Obama, and Biden had to do.

    2. Also, Keith, it’s spelled MICHAEL. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

    3. Michael N.

One party rule usually does not work out well. Regardless of who is in charge.

Also, I distinguish between true liberals and leftists.
I like Dem Governor Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania and Senator John Fetterman.

But Bernie Sanders and Dems that think like him are not good for our country.
