  1. They need to be attacking the credit card fees charged to vendors to process the credit card transactions. They are 9 times higher in the US than they are in Europe. It is like a 3% tax on the entire economy. Everybody pays it, even cash users, because vendors just build it into the prices they charge everyone. So paying cash doesn’t even help, except for the occasional restaurant that charges a 2.5-3% fee to use credit cards and those are getting more frequent.

    It would end all of these stupid reward programs, but the cost needs to brought under control!

    1. I would love to see some documentation showing that credit card processing fees in Europe are 0.25% (that is what your statement indicates). Can you direct me to a source showing those fees ?
