  1. Vop has been my city county conciliator and has always been very responsive. He understands how the city works and seems willing to work out compromises. I think he would be good for the city.

  2. Same old Democratic blood that will basically be Hogsett 2.0. The Dems need fresh leadership across the country. If Andrea Hunley runs she will get my vote.

    1. Yes, It would be nice to see a broader vision statement that is inspiring, but helps every day citizens. It’s early and maybe that will be announced soon.

    2. Ethan R/: I agree. I have met Andrea Hunley. She is smart, energetic and creative. She would have my vote as well.

    1. Agreed Corey – everything I’ve learned about him, including his ‘nickname’, comes across as someone who is out for himself first and foremost.

Michael G., your comment ‘reeks’ like an ad hominem attack. Care to contribute in a meaningful way? Or only interested in school-yard taunts?

  3. Announcing the candidacy 16 months before the primary election, and before Hogsett has announced no more terms, it appears Vop has strategized to cleans his reputation from anything tainted by Hogsett and his CCCouncil. The voters will forget the past over the next 12-16 months. Plus Vop is trying to beat Mears to the punch, as we see Mears with his new ads claiming prosecutorial success, although he will remain stuck in his own mud.

  4. Vop is just Hogsett 2.0. He’s just as corrupt and, unfortunately, he is FAR more competent than Hogsett.

He’s talked out of both sides of his mouth when it comes to housing, transportation, crime, and poverty. I’ve watched him promote housing quantity and quality but then work behind the scenes to block new housing in his district and to help his car dealership buddy expand their parking lot on Meridian Street. I also remember when he worked hard to water down a townhouse development at College & Sutherland. Instead of owner-occupied townhomes, we got some of the ugliest short-term rentals I’ve ever seem (those containers on the corner).

Vop has no interest in helping Indianapolis. He has a massive ego that needs to be stroked (“Voice of the People?” Give me a break.), will only perpetuate the corruption with DBNS, and will continue to serve a handful of major business interests while letting critical public services continue to deteriorate.

    NO VOP.

  5. Wow, minds are already made up?!! I’ll be watching and listening, and I can only hope the Dems have a good-back-and-forth on their best candidate(s) and hope the Reps have a credible and viable option as well. As with the city of Indianapolis, one-party grips on both the Statehouse and in DC are not good for good government.
