A new concept from The Flying Cupcake is landing in Zionsville.

Owner Kate Bova Drury has filed plans to open the shop at 95 E. Pine St., which is on the corner of Elm Street in downtown Zionsville. It will be called The Lemon Bar and will offer alcoholic drinks, along with a light American bistro menu with quiche, soup, salads and sandwiches.

Desserts including cupcakes, full cakes and cakes by the slice will be sold, and a champagne and wine bar featuring champagne slushies will be available. Rotating local beers will be on tap.

Drury said she hopes to open by mid-summer.

It will be the eighth store for Drury, who opened the first location of The Flying Cupcake on Illinois Street in 2007. Other locations are scattered throughout the Indianapolis area—on Mass Ave, on Rangeline Road in Carmel, in the River’s Edge Shops on 82nd Street and on U.S. 31 in Greenwood.

Drury’s most recent expansion was in 2016 when she opened a combination of The Flying Cupcake and her other business, The Dancing Donut, in Fishers. The Flying Cupcake & Donut is in the Fishers Marketplace along State Road 37.

She opened The Dancing Donut in 2015 at 1134 E. 54th St.

The Flying Cupcake sells a variety of regular, filled and jumbo cupcakes with rotating flavors, plus other sweets like cookies and brownies.
