Fatal morning crash closes I-65

October 9, 2012

One person died in an accident on northbound Interstate 65 early Tuesday, closing the highway while crews cleared the wreckage. Travel lanes had reopened by the start of morning rush hour. The single-car crash, which involved a commercial vehicle, occurred about 4:30 a.m. near Whiteland. Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox said the driver of a semi following the vehicle may have recorded the accident using an onboard video camera. According to the witness, the motorist was driving erratically on I-65, hit the left shoulder, over-corrected off the right shoulder and flipped the vehicle multiple times. The driver was ejected. Cox said alcohol and drugs were not suspected in the crash.

Police: Man killed 2, then himself

October 9, 2012

Investigators believe a Middletown man fatally shot his ex-wife and a male companion at her rural central Indiana home Tuesday morning before killing himself. Indiana State Police say officers were called to the home in rural Henry County about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. There, they discovered resident Ruth Webb, 38, and Robert Morrow, 42, dead from apparent gunshot wounds. About six hours later, police found a van parked a couple miles away with 39-year-old Johnny Webb of Middletown dead inside. Officials said it appears Johnny Webb killed himself after shooting his ex-wife and Morrow.

Members sue consumer ratings site Angie’s List over fees

A federal lawsuit seeking class-action status alleges that Angie’s List automatically renews members' subscriptions at a higher rate than they’re led to believe, under what it calls a “systematic and repeated breach of its membership agreement.”

The average rate for 30-year mortgages fell to 3.52 percent from 3.55 percent in the week ended Oct. 3, according to Bankrate.com. The rate for 15-year mortgages fell to 2.84 percent from 2.88 percent.

-Hobby Lobby leased 50,585 square feet at Noble Creek Shops, 585 Noble Creek Drive, Noblesville. The tenant was represented Wayne O’Hara of Sitehawk Retail Real Estate and David Leathers of DE Johnson and Associates. The landlord, Douglas Realty Group, was represented by Doug McAuley of Douglas Realty Advisors.  

-Quintiles Inc. leased 12,400 square feet of office space at 201 S. Capitol Ave. The tenant was represented by Tom Hadley of Summit Realty Group. The landlord, Coastal Partners LLC, was represented by Bennett Williams of Cassidy Turley.

-Dollar General renewed its lease for 7,500 square feet lease at Oaklandon Plaza, 11725 Pendleton Pike. The tenant was represented by David Ciechanowicz of Colliers International. The landlord, Oaklandon Plaza Investment Management LLC, was represented by Greg Smith of Colliers International.  

-HealthNet Inc. leased 6,500 square feet of medical space at 6029 W. 10th St.  The landlord, KLC Realty LLC, was represented by Greg Smith and Joe Tarpey of Colliers International. The tenant represented itself.

-Something Around a $1.00 leased 5,250 square feet of retail space at 2150-2200 Independence Drive, Greenwood. The tenant was represented by Jacque Haynes of Cassidy Turley. The landlord, Kosene & Kosene Development Co. Inc., was represented by Todd Camesasca of Kosene.

-Cox Sargeant & Burns PC leased 3,864 square feet of office space at 8440 Woodfield Crossing. The landlord, C III Asset Management LLC, was represented by Darrin Boyd and Dave Moore of Cassidy Turley. The tenant represented itself.

-Preferred Community Services Inc. leased 3,302 square feet of office space at 6330 E. 75th St. The tenant was represented by Glenn Davis of Colliers International. The landlord, Metro Center Office Park LLC, was represented by J.D. Graves of CBRE.

-Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt leased 1,942 square feet at CityWay, 307 S. Delaware St. The tenant was represented by Nicholas E. Wright of Newbridge Commercial Real Estate. The landlord, Buckingham Cos., represented itself.

-Mechanic Automotives bought a former Shell gas station at 3702 N. High School Road. The buyer and seller, The United Cos., were represented by Michael Sloan of The Broadbent Group.
