Jinzhi Pu joined the IUPUI chemistry and chemical biology department as an assistant professor. Pu was most recently in post-doctoral training at Harvard University. Pu holds a bachelor's degree from Peking University and a doctorate from the University of Minnesota.
Rajesh Sardar joined the IUPUI chemistry and chemical biology department as an assistant professor after completing his post-doctoral fellowship at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Sardar earned bachelor's and master's degrees in India and a doctorate at The Graduate Center, The City University of New York.
Scott Roberts has been appointed business manager for St. Francis Hospital & Health Center’s imaging services. Roberts also will oversee operations of the hospital's Greenbrooke Imaging Center.

The family of Eric Wells filed legal notice against the city of Indianapolis on Monday that it will seek nearly $4 million for his wrongful death. Wells was killed Aug. 6 in a crash involving city police officer David Bisard, whose blood-alcohol test results were later thrown out of court, spawning accusations of a cover-up within the police department. About $1.5 million of the money sought would pay for funeral expenses, Wells' motorcycle and his lifetime estimated earnings. His wife is asking for another $2.5 million in damages.
Indianapolis police have arrested a suspect in the stabbing of a woman on the east side. A 49-year-old man admitted stabbing the 36-year old woman multiple times in the limbs. The stabbing happened across the street from the suspect’s home in the 400 block of North LaSalle Street about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. The woman was transported to Wishard Hospital in serious condition.
Indianapolis police captured a woman who led them on a car and foot chase following a shooting Tuesday morning. She was taken into custody near Brookville Road and German Church Road on the city’s east side. The female suspect allegedly shot a man in the leg in the 4600 block of East 19th Street about 8:15 a.m. Tuesday. The victim was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Fox59 will have more at 4 p.m.
