Clarian Health has appointed Chris Van Pelt as chief information officer. Van Pelt, who has been part of
Clarian Information Services since October 2004, has held the position on an interim basis for nine months.

Community Home Health Services, a unit of Community Health Network, named Dr. Waqas Ghumman its associate
medical director for cardiovascular services, to help Community’s staff care for heart-failure patients in their homes.

 

Leasing/leasing contracts

July 26, 2010

-Jones Lang LaSalle has been named exclusive leasing and management agent for Meridian Corporate Plaza One and Two, at 301 and 401 Pennsylvania Parkway, by Inland American Real Estate Investment Trust. The 66,000-square-foot Meridian Corporate Plaza One is vacant. The other building, at 135,500 square feet, is 96-percent leased. John Robinson and Adam Broderick will oversee leasing and Jeff Reynolds will oversee management of the buildings.

-Earnest Machine leased 89,719 square feet at 5130 West 76th St. The tenant was represented by Dustin Looper of Colliers International. The landlord, Duke Realty, represented itself.

-Durham School Services leased 24,000 square feet and eight acres at 1777 S. Belmont Ave. The tenant was represented by Mark Stephenson of Sigma Group.  The landlord, Belmont Terminal Inc., represented itself.

-Coinmach Inc. renewed its lease for 20,000 square feet at 2450 N. Shadeland Ave. The landlord, Shadeland South Business Park LLC, was represented by Mark Stephenson of Sigma Group. The tenant was represented by Latt Purser & Associates of North Carolina.

-Durham School Services leased 9,600 square feet and six acres at 2525 N. Shadeland Ave. The tenant was represented by Mark Stephenson of Sigma Group.  The landlord, Western Select Properties LP, was represented by Greg Folz and Michael Weishaar of Cassidy Turley.

-Cellular Connection leased 4,235 square feet at Greenwood Springs, 1133 N. Emerson Ave., Greenwood. The tenant was represented by Jamison Downs of Sandor. The landlord, Regency Realty Group Inc., was represented by Keith Fried of Sitehawk Retail Real Estate.

-Infinias LLC leased 4,098 square feet at 857 W. Carmel Drive in the Carmel Tech Center. The tenant was represented by Thomas Willey of Mathewson Willey Realty Advisors. The landlord, Atapco Properties, was represented by John Vandenbark and Dan Richardson of CB Richard Ellis.

-Wha-Laa Coupons LLC leased 3,000 square feet at 5155 N. Shadeland Ave., Suite 200. The tenant and landlord, JMMC LLC, were represented by Keith Dedrick of Corporate Commercial Group.

-Traders Point Creamery leased 1,800 square feet at Park 100 Industrial Center, Building 30. The tenant was represented by Ross Reller of Colliers International. The landlord, Prologis, represented itself.

-Madame Royale LLC leased 1,750 square feet at Southport Pavilion, 5325 E. Southport Road. The landlord, Southport Pavilion LLC, was represented by Donna Hovey and Shannon Hicks of CB Richard Ellis. The tenant represented itself.

-tHAIRAPY Hair Salon leased 1,600 square feet at 5537 E. Washington St. The landlord, 5535 E. Washington Associates, was represented by Keith Kleinmaier of Retail Realty. The tenant represented itself.
 
-Roll With It Bakery LLC, leased 1,600 square feet at 5539 E. Washington St.  The landlord, 5535 E. Washington Associates, was represented by Keith Kleinmaier of Retail Realty. The tenant represented itself.

-3 Angel’s Haircare & Beauty Supply leased 1,400 square feet at Shadeland Corner Shopping Center, 4554 N. Shadeland Ave.  Keith Kleinmaier of Retail Realty represented the landlord, Shadeland Center LLC. The tenant represented itself.

-Estetica Adela’s leased 1,200 square feet at Plaza Las Palmas, 3350 N. High School Road.  The tenant was represented by Kelli Membreno of Libertad Real Estate. The landlord, Pentak LLC, was represented by Keith Kleinmaier of Retail Realty.

Exchanges sprout around the country

When the Indiana Health Information Exchange launched in 2004, it was one of nine truly operational exchanges around the country.
Today, the Indianapolis-based organization is one of 73, according to the latest national survey by the eHealth Initiative.

Sales & acquisitions

July 26, 2010

-Bryton Corp. bought a 13,500-square-foot building at 4011 Championship Drive in Park 100. The price wasn’t disclosed. The buyer was represented by Ted McClure of McClure Commercial Real Estate. The seller, US Centrifuge, was represented by Keith Dedrick of Corporate Commercial Group.

-Circle City Rebar LLC bought a 16,855-square-foot light manufacturing building located at 4002 Industrial Blvd. The price wasn’t disclosed. The buyer was represented by Bill Brennan of Grubb & Ellis Harding Dahm & Co. The seller, K&E Properties LLC, was represented by Kevin Kempf and Patrick Lindley of Cassidy Turley.

-Shriya Properties Inc. bought a 7,000-square-foot office building at 6960 Gray Road. The price wasn’t disclosed. The buyer was represented by Diana Elmore of Turtle Creek Realty. The seller, Patels N Amin Inc., was represented by  Bob Lindgren and Rick Jones of Grubb & Ellis Harding Dahm & Co.

Vehicle fumes make dozens ill at industrial park

About 100 Lockheed Martin were overcome by exhaust fumes that came from a semi-tractor for an IndyCar team that was switching
trailers at the industrial park building near Indianapolis International Airport.

Body found on grounds of former school

July 26, 2010

A former schoolyard turned into a crime scene after the body of Anthony Fred Daly, 50, was found with multiple stab wounds
just before 7 a.m. Sunday. Indianapolis Metro Police said Daly was found by a man who was walking his dog behind former IPS
School 21 in the 2800 block of English Avenue. Investigators identified the victim through his fingerprints. Now officers
hope clues left at the scene will help lead them to the killer. Anyone with information about Daly’s murder is asked
to call Crimestoppers at 262-TIPS.

Accused shooter charged as an adult

July 26, 2010

The 17-year-old suspected of shooting nine people in downtown Indianapolis during Indiana Black Expo’s Summer Celebration
July 17 will face charges in adult court. The suspect, Shamus Patton, appeared in court Monday morning. He has been charged
with 12 felonies and two misdemeanors. None of the victims had life-threatening injuries, but city leaders say the shooting
damaged Indianapolis’ reputation.

Brother, sister die in Brownsburg blaze

July 26, 2010

Two people died following an early-morning fire in Brownsburg. Neighbors said the victims were brother and sister, both in
their 60s, who had lived together in the house for 15 years. The fire broke out about 5:20 a.m. at a home in the 7500 block
of East County Road 300 North, just east of State Road 267. Officials said at least three animals were rescued from inside
the home. A horse and 30 cats were found in a barn behind the house. Although the fire was concentrated on the first floor,
the victims were discovered on the second floor. Investigators are still searching for the cause of the fire. Fox 59 will
have more at 4 p.m.
