A man is recovering from multiple gunshot wounds following an overnight robbery attempt. The victim was shot in the back and the side about 2 a.m. in the 3900 block of North Shadeland Avenue near Pendleton Pike. The man was alert and talking when medics took him to Wishard Hospital.

Area gasoline prices on the rise-WEB ONLY

Gasoline prices are on the rise for a fourth day in a row. According to the American Automobile Association, the national average at the pump is $1.97 for a gallon of unleaded. In Indianapolis, prices have jumped 20 cents at some stations, reaching as high as $2.15.

Members of a State House Committee will hear arguments today regarding a bill that would ban teens from using cell phones and other handheld devices while driving.
