State lawmakers review teen-driver cell-phone ban-WEB ONLY

Members of a State House Committee will hear arguments today regarding a bill that would ban teens from using cell phones and other handheld devices while driving. The ban would include all drivers younger than 18. The State Senate passed the bill 43-6. Similar bills have failed to pass in previous years.

Jury acquits Plainfield woman in newborn’s death-WEB ONLY

A Plainfield woman was acquitted yesterday in the death of her newborn child, but the Kentucky jury convicted Katie McCoy, 20, of tampering with physical evidence. An Indianapolis teen is behind bars this morning, accused of murdering another teen. Branden Pannell, 18, turned himself into police yesterday.
