Conner Prairie grand reopening

June 6, 2012

June 9-10

Conner Prairie

If you want to, you can experience Prairietown the same free-associative way you used to. But now there’s another option. Actually, many other options. Visitors can now take on the role of potential residents and look for a home, try to land a job, find the best ways to spend earnings, and deal with other 19th-century realities. Adventure guidebooks with specific missions, achievement cards, and seek-and-find books provide even more choices. To facilitate the changes, there’s a new entry area where a staffer will help transition 21st-century guests to prairie life. Once in town, returnees will note a new pottery shop and remodeled town store (where objects can be purchased with earned money). There’s a new play kitchen in the Campbell home, activities in the Curtis house, and a covered wagon for interactive action. Details here.

Arrive early for live renditions in the lobby courtesy of Actors Theatre of Indiana. Details here.
