Another taxable parcel off the books. While church growth is great, it is a shame that they end up taking existing valuable taxed parcels and eliminating that income from the local treasuries.
Same sentiment. Interested to see site renders. That property could use a much needed face lift at the perimeter.
How long did the private sector have a chance to bite at this apple?
YES! I don’t blame TPCC at all, but how can a parcel that good, not be generating property tax? The shifting tides of commercial real estate can be blamed. I’ll sure city government wishes that were a $5,000,000, 3% paying, parcel.
How do churches (not-for-profits?) come up with 7 million to buy such a parcel of property?
They regularly solicit donations from their members or anyone who shows up at services (or, in some cases, people who watch services on tv). So, they are using the money that people give to them, and they take in a lot of money.
Just what the area needs……..another church building.
