Vice President, Engagement

Indiana Sports Corp.

Over the past eight years, Ashleigh Newbold has grown from an events manager to leading engagement and impact for Indiana Sports Corp. She serves as or has served as a Local Organizing Committee Division & Committee co-chair for major events, including the 2026 NCAA Men’s Final Four, 2025 WNBA All-Star Game and 2024 NBA All-Star Game. For the 2024 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials, she spearheaded community engagement efforts that resulted in 280,000-plus attendees at USA Swimming Live and Aqua Zone, more than 50 local businesses participating in Indy experience activities and 300 mentors recruited for Big Brothers Big Sisters Central Indiana. “At the heart of it all, it’s the shared purpose, connections and lasting change we create that bring me the most joy in this role,” she said. Previously, as director of events, she managed the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships and Big Ten Basketball tournaments. Newbold is a member of the current, 48th class of the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series.

Getting here: Newbold’s career began at the Indiana State Fair with roles in events, marketing and community partnerships. That led her to the Indiana Sports Corp., where she started as an event manager.

First job: Working retail at Macy’s.

Givebacks: IndyHub board member, Women in Sports & Events Indy member and United Way of Central Indiana Volunteer HQ pilot program member

Lesson learned: Growth comes through adaptability. Recognize each experience as an opportunity to evolve, uplift others and create meaningful impact.

Meaningful moment: The 2024 U.S. Olympic Swimming Team Trials “was a career-defining experience that challenged me, inspired me and pushed me to grow in ways I never expected. Seeing 280,000-plus people come together in Indianapolis was a powerful reminder of how sports can unite and uplift a community.”•
